GTR Asia 2020, the world's largest trade finance gathering, took place virtually this year, over 4 days on September 8-11.
This exciting new initiative encompassed all the key aspects of the live conference experience in a digital format, retaining GTR's core focus on networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing, traders, banks, insurers, lawyers, technology companies, non-bank financiers, government agencies and investors.

Illiteracy is still prevalent among millions of adults, and the number of school dropouts is increasing at an alarming rate. In attempts to change this for the better, South Africa has put a premium on education as the only viable socio-economic equaliser and therefore catalyst for change. Will South Africa be able to completely free itself from the shackles of apartheid by using education as a catalyst?

Africa-Singapore Business Forum 2018

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana. Panelists included Mr Solomon Asamoah (CEO, Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund), Mr Mamadou Mbaye (Executive Director, FONSIS, Senegal), Mr Kola Owodunni (Head, Investment Risk, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority), Mr Tariq Senhaji (CEO, Ithmar Capital, Morocco SWF), Mr Patrick Shyaka (CEO, Agaciro Development Fund, Rwanda) and Mr Michael Kottoh (Managing Partner at Konfidants).

The demand for convenience and processed food is growing in Nigeria. Nigeria’s packaging and food processing market is one of the largest in Africa, estimated at about US$545 million. However, the agriculture and agribusiness industry is plagued with numerous challenges including business, infrastructure and regulatory problems. These provide numerous investment opportunities for the Africa-savvy investor. Dr Adefolake Adeyeye, a Nigerian citizen and Research Fellow of the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies, has researched these possibilities. Joining her to discuss these issues was Mr Venkataramani Srivathsan, Managing Director & CEO, Africa and the Middle East, Olam International Ltd.
